Katie Honan is a reporter/producer covering Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Corona and the Rockaway peninsula in Queens. She comes to DNAinfo.com from WNBC/Channel 4, where she was the station's first social media editor and also worked as a web editor.
While at NBC, she was part of a team that won an Emmy for best breaking news coverage for reporting during the Empire State Building shooting. The team also won an Emmy and a national Edward R. Murrow for its coverage of Hurricane Sandy.
She has a B.S. in film and television production from St. John's University, and a master's degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
Katie is a lifelong Queens resident who grew up down the block from the beach in Rockaway Park. She now lives in Woodside.
